I have been using Barry Clarke Auto and his team at the Grey Lynn workshop for more than
5 years now and in all my years of motoring (or trying to as the case maybe here) I can
honestly say that this is the only time I have formed a loyalty to the professionals who work
and care for my vehicles… Why?
Trust, Reliability and Integrity
… the three most difficult to find of the professional ethics that are fast becoming an
unfortunate rarity in ANY of today’s service industries in New Zealand.

Impressive too is the ‘Long Term’ view Barry Clarke and his team take when approaching the
lost art of Customer Service as a key part of their business success. On two occasions I have
bought very large, and by rights what should have been ‘very expensive‘, jobs to their
workshop and on each occasion they went out of their way to eliminate as much of the cost
to me as possible, even to the detriment of their own bottom-line.
This may not appear to make good business or financial sense at first glance, but they knew
full well my satisfaction would translate to continued business coming through their doors as I
keep returning in the years to follow for any other work I subsequently required on my
vehicles… whether it be small WOF, 10K Service, Tyre Change jobs, right up to a replacing
clutches, gear boxes, transmissions… or worse!

In my book that’s just good, smart, intelligent business.
